Gosberton WI normally meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 2.0pm in the Public Hall Gosberton.
We are a friendly group; we do not always have a speaker, but sometimes have a talk or demonstration from one of our lovely members.
At our July meeting, however, we did have a speaker - she was Sue Barker, a local lady who told us all about her hobby, beekeeping. She just has the one hive, and her bees only make enough honey for themselves and her own personal use. She explained all about the life of the bees and what they do to survive. She advised us what kind of flowers and plants we should be having in our gardens to enable the bees to feed all year round. It was a fascinating talk.
Our August meeting will take the form of a cream tea at our president's house. We hope the fine weather will continue for a little longer so we can enjoy being outside in the garden.
On Tuesday September 9th, back at the Public Hall, we are holding an open meeting so non-members can attend for a small donation. As well as our usual hospitality, Antoinette's Vintage Clothing will be on hand to tell us all about her collection of clothing and accessories. Should be well worth a look!
In October, we will be looking to display our craft and cookery items as we hold our (almost) annual mini show. You never know what masterpieces will be produced by our members!
If anyone would like further information about Gosberton WI, or would be interested in joining us, please call our president, Rosemary on 01775 640573.
